Technology Infrastructure
Over the last five years, Louisiana has taken giant strides in positioning itself into being a large scale IT/IT Sciences and Biosciences player. Investments by the state have included a $40 Million in the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative the LONI line connects North Louisiana to at least 5 supercomputers located at major research institutions around the state. The speed of which is 40 billion bits of date per second allowing the opportunity to play a major role in the NLR (National Lambda Rail). Louisiana has taken major strides in research in concert with the LONI by Operating three IT Incubators in the state: - Louisiana Tech Technology Incubator

- Louisiana Business Technology Center
LONI also hosts the Louisiana Immersive Technology Enterprise (LITE). LITE is a state of the art visualization facility in Lafayette which encompasses the worlds first six-sided, digital virtual reality cube as world as the worlds largest 3-D auditorium.
