Incumbent Worker Training Program - Customized employer-driven training program for existing employees
- Designed to increase productivity and company growth
- Administered by training provider
- Company eligibility requirements:
- Operated in Louisiana for 3 years
- Contributed to the Unemployment Insurance Systems for at least 3 years
- Each employer or consortium of employers must train at least fifteen (15) employees
- Designed for supplemental training
- Preference is given to employers who utilize public training providers, donate equipment and supplies to the program and participate in Louisiana’s Welfare to Work initiative
- Application process required for approval
- Administered by the Louisiana Department of Labor
Workforce Investment Act - Designed to stimulate employment, training and retraining of unemployed and economically disadvantaged persons
- Federal funds pay 50% of wages for newly hired, eligible employees
- Program pays for tuition, books and training supplies
- "Customized" training available for new hires combining on-the-job training and vocational classroom training
- Locally administered by the City of Shreveport and the Coordinating and Development Corporation
Louisiana Workforce Development & Training Program - Offers customized training
- Available to Louisiana companies expanding within the state by an additional location in a new area, existing Louisiana businesses that have been operating less than three years and companies located outside of Louisiana locating a facility within the state. The expan- sion of an existing Louisiana company, by the addition of a new technology or product line, can be considered.

Louisiana Job Employment & Training Program (LaJet) - Employment and training programs for Caddo Parish mandatory food stamp recipients
- Services include:
- Individual assessment and testing
- Counseling
- Job development & readiness training
- Literacy training
- Basic skills workplace training
- Administered by the City of Shreveport’s Department of Community Development
Strategies to Empower People (STEP) - Provides training and job opportunities for welfare recipients and non-custodial parents
- Use of funds:
- Job readiness
- Employment activities and job placement
- Post-employment training services and job retention
- Support services - including transportation
- Locally administered by the City of Shreveport and the Coordinating and Development Corporation
