Feist Weiler Cancer Center
The Feist-Weiller Cancer Center is part of the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. The Center offers preeminent cancer research, cancer prevention programs, and excellent care for cancer patients. The Feist-Weiller Cancer Center has a special partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through which area children are treated under the protocols from St. Jude. Among the signature strengths of the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center is "translational" cancer research. This process takes a clinical problem encountered at a patient's bedside to scientists in the research laboratories to solve. The solution is applied back to the patient at the bedside. Feist-Weiller Cancer Center patients have the opportunities to participate in clinical trials with the newest treatments for combating cancer. The Feist-Weiller Cancer Center is humbled by the number of patients who, by their own choice, take part in experimental therapies. The Center is a leading enroller for numerous clinical trials.
